Vocational Nursing Program
Vocational Nursing Program
ASN’s Vocational Nursing Program—which is full-time for a period of 12 months—prepares you to be an integral part of a healthcare team. Our vocational nursing curriculum offers vital hands-on learning experience.
The program admits just 24 students at a time, ensuring an intimate learning experience supervised by faculty dedicated to student success. Students complete four 12-week sessions comprised of 1,530 hours of clinical and classroom time. Courses include:
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Fundamentals of Nursing
• Medical Surgical Nursing
• Mental Health Nursing
• Obstetric and Maternal Child Nursing
• Pharmacology
The program is available in the San Fernando Valley, on the campus of Los Angeles Jewish Health’s Eisenberg Village, as well as in City of Commerce at the headquarters of AltaMed.
Best On The Test
ASN is a leader in licensing exam preparation, with pass rates on the NCLEX-PN exam well above the California state average. Once they receive their license, our vocational nursing students are offered a diverse range of positions in medical offices, clinics, HMOs, acute-care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings.
Vocation for Inspiration
Vocational nurses play an essential role in inspiring excellence in patient care. Under the direction of a physician or a registered nurse, their daily duties include administering medications, assisting with examinations, taking and charting vital signs, and more. Through their work, they improve health outcomes and change patients’ lives.
