Program Overview

SUCCESS.

Success starts with our selection process. Because we take just 24 students at one time, we can be very selective and choose only the candidates we feel are most likely to succeed. Success is enhanced by our teaching staff. They guide students through the textbooks and impart the knowledge necessary to pass the state licensing exam. We also spend ample time in our skills lab allowing students to have hands-on experience. After our students have completed the four 12-week sessions and put in 1,680 hours in clinics and classrooms, not to mention untold hours studying, they’re on their way to taking the state-licensing exam. To date, 86% of ASN graduates have passed the state licensing exam, a pass rate that is much higher than the state average.

THE GOAL.

Our full-time vocational nursing program is divided into four 12-week terms with classes and labs meeting Monday through Friday. The goal of the program is to prepare vocational nursing students for the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN®), which meets the standards set by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).

Armed with their diplomas and state licenses, new graduates are ready to go out in the world and seek employment where, as new grads, they can expect to earn between $22 to $31 per hour.
