What programs does ASN offer?

What is the length of study for each program?

  • Vocational Nursing – 12 months (full-time)
  • Nurse Assistant – 24 days
  • Home Health Aide – 5 days (40-hour program)

Am I eligible for financial aid?

There is a high likelihood you will be eligible. ASN is approved to participate in the Title IV Federal Student Aid Pell Grant and Direct Loan Programs for the Vocational Nursing Program. Applications for federal student aid are completed online at fafsa.ed.gov. Vocational nursing students are also eligible for scholarships. All ASN applicants may apply for interest-free loans from the Jewish Free Loan Association, which provides loans to students of all faiths and backgrounds.

Yes. When hiring, LAJH gives priority to ASN graduates who have passed the California state licensing exam.

Does ASN provide job placement?

In addition to providing an outstanding educational experience, we help you develop important professional skills such as interviewing and resume preparation.

Is ASN accredited?

Yes. ASN is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. It is also approved by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians and the California Department of Public Health.

Does ASN provide hands-on clinical experience?

Yes. Clinical experience is a central component of ASN programs. You will participate in direct patient care in real-world healthcare settings including rotations in medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare environments.

What is the NCLEX-PN exam pass rate for ASN graduates?

We are pleased to share that our pass rate is above the California state average.

Does the Vocational Nursing Program offer evening or weekend classes?

Currently, ASN offers full-time, daytime classes for our Vocational Nursing Program.

What are the requirements for admission to the Vocational Nursing Program?

ASN requires vocational nursing applicants to take and pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). Other admission criteria include interviews and prior academic performance. Once you are enrolled, you will be provided with the skills and information required to be fully prepared to pass State of California nursing exams.
