STRENGTH.

Nursing hands are caring hands. But they have to be strong hands, too. In fact, nursing is a profession that requires some degree of fitness and strength. To qualify, candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Nurses must also have the strength to pull and push. Another physical demand of nurses is standing for long periods of time, up to 12 hours.

AWARENESS.

Even under the best conditions nursing is hard work. Nurses need to be aware of their surroundings their entire shift. Mental awareness minimizes the risks inherent in the profession.
